Memorial for Igor Aristegi-from global Basque Community
The global Basque community is sorry to hear the sad news of Igor Aristegi’s death. The 28 year old from Beasain, Gipuzkoa, was on vacation in the United States and Mexico and was found dead in a hotel room in Rosarito, a town on the coast near the US/Mexico border. He had a degree in philosophy from the University of the Basque Country and had just begun his doctoral work at the University of Cambridge in England. He was
interested in learning more about university philosophy classes in the
San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico. EuskoSare and the global Basque community wants to extend our condolences to Igor’s family and friends with a memorial article for him.
The young man from Beasain, had just recently began work on his thesis in the philosophy department at the University of Cambridge in England. His peers and doctoral professors said that he was a very hard worker and was in charge of the “Theoria” review magazine and had also studied at the prestigious London School of Economics. Igor was said to be a great asset in the field of analytical philosophy. Igor had also been awarded the Elhuyar Prize two years ago in the youth category of Best Scientific Study Article for his report titled, “Maite haugu, zorion”. He had a passion for reading and poetry. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Our thoughts are with you with sympathy.
