Argentina took home three gold medals and was the overall winner in the International Basque Pilota Tournament the 30th of August in the Chilean capital.

Argentina won three gold medals in the International Basque Pilota Tournament at the trinketa court in Santiago. Chile.  The Basque select team from Euskal Herria (EH) won the most medals overall however, with two gold, one silver and one bronze.

Kepa Arroitajauregi from EH, who started playing pilota as a young boy and turned professional in 1993 and in 1994 was asked to be a talent-hunter for the hand-ball style of play, said he was "pleasantly surprised of how the level of play has evolved in Argentina and Bolivia".  He added that, "the distances between us have become shorter and that is always a benefit for competitive play".
