Program Schedule: San Francisco Basque Cultural Center 25 year Celebration
February 13-18, 2007 will mark the 25th anniversary celebrations for the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco, California. All events will be held at the Basque Cultural Center.
Schedule of Events
Tuesday, February 13
7:00 pm: 25 Year Highlights of the Basque Cultural Center
Slide show presentation by Elizabeth and Jean-Paul Barthe (length: 90 minutes)
Thursday, February 15
6:00 pm: Joko Garbi (Jaialai) Exhibition Game featuring the Champions from the federation Kapito Harri (Uztaritz); free admission.
7:00 pm: Dinner. $25 per person. Reservations needed.
Friday, February 16
8:00 am: N.A.B.O. meeting will be held for all delegates.
6:00 pm: Dinner, with entertainment by the Elgarrekin Choir, Bertsolaris, and the popular singer from Xiberoa, Michel Arrotce and Jean Bordachar. $25 per person. Reservations needed.
8:00 pm: Performance by Erregetxopitak Taldea, a group of folkloric dancers from the Basque province of Xiberoa.
Show followed by muisc and dancing with Kiki Bordatxo, a well known music group from Euskal Herria.
Saturday, February 17
8:00 am: Euskararen Eguna - Euskara workshop for Basque language instructors. Find workshop details on NABO's website.
12:00-2:00pm: Brown bag Seminar with Miren Azkarate: The Basque Peace Process. See BEO's website for details.
1:00 pm: Commemorative Photo taken of all those in attendance in front of the Basque Cultural Center.
2:00 pm: Opening Ceremony
Entrance parade featuring the Benafarroa Cavalcade - a traditional parade of dancers performed during the Carnival season.
American National Anthem sung by Sue Elicetche, and Basque Anthem performed by Elgarrekin Choir and Zazpiak Bat Dancers.
Opening address by Miren Azkarate, Minister of Culture from the Basque Government.
Pilota Games:
Joko Garbi (Jaialai) featuring the Champions from the federation Kapito Harri (Uztaritz).
Pilota Eskuz (Handball) featuring the Champions of Euskadi from the Euskadiko Pilota Federakuntza and local players.
Admission: $10; under 18 free.
6:00 pm: Cocktails with entertainment by Kiki Bordatxo, Michel Arrotce, and Bertsolaris.
7:00 pm: Barbeque steak dinner. Adults $25; Children under 12 $7. Reservations needed.
9:00 pm: Dance with music by Kiki Bordatxo.
Sunday, February 18
9:30 am: Mass with Aita Tillous and Aita Cachenaut, followed by the presentation of the Basque Cultural Center Bizi Emankorra to Bill Etchegoin, Joe Castanchoa, and Jean Jaurretche.
12:00 pm: Cocktails with entertainment by Kiki Bordatxo, Michel Arrotce, and Bertsolaris.
1:00 pm: Barbeque rack of lamb lunch. Adults $25; Children under 12: $7. Reservations needed.
4:00 pm: Pilota Games

Closing Ceremony with the Erregetxopitak Taldea and local groups, followed by muisc and dancing with Kiki Bordatxo.
