Battle Mountain Oberenak Club (Battle Mountain)

Introduction:

This club was started in 1997 by three ladies who were taking their kids to Elko, NV (70 miles away) to dance. They figured they had enough Basques in Battle Mountain to start their own club. They advertised and got a lot of support to start the club. They had their first Picnic in 1997 and then started an annual Winter festival in January. This annual festival draws between 250 and 300 people every year. Their dancers have participated in Jaialdi in 2000 and 2005.
