Ahotsak: Basque voices and heritage

Last month Asier Sarasua and Aintzane Agirrebeña launched a web project called Ahotsak.com. The main objective of this website is to show the different usages Basque language has in each town.

There is a list of 1218 recordings already, as well as many videos and transcripts. The aim of these recordings is to emphasize the importance of Basque or Euskara as a relic and a language that is still widely spoken today.

The different recordings are classified by topic and geography, and the public is expected to participate by sending old and new recordings and/or transcribing clips they find in the internet.

Recordings are expected to be completed by the year 2012.
