“Beghiri’ by Oier Fuentes wins EuskoMovie's first edition

The short film, “Beghiri”, by the Gipuzkoan, Oier Fuentes wins the first edition of EuskoMovie. The Best Original Idea went to Xabier Hernandez and Mikel Gorrotxategi for “Consejos”. “Kakarril” also by Oier Fuentes, received a special mention by the judges. The users have decided that the Spectators’ Prize will go to "Memorias de una alboka".

EuskoMovie, the first on-line short film contest by EuskoSare now has winners.  The Gipuzkoan, Oier Fuentes, won the Best Short Film prize for his work, “Beghiri”.  A special mention by the judges was given to “Kakarril”, also by Fuentes.  The Best Original Idea went to “Consejos” by Xabier Hernandez and Mikel Gorrotxategi.  EuskoSare users have decided via on-line voting that the Spectators’ Prize goes to….

The following are the contest prizes:

  • Best Short Film:  600 euros
  • Best Original Idea:  400 euros
  • Spectators’ Prize:  200 euros

The EuskoSare team will contact the winners to handout the prizes.  Everyone’s participation in the first edition of EuskoMovie is greatly appreciated.  All participants will receive a diploma of accreditation. A hard copy diploma will be sent to those classified in the top ten and the rest will receive an electronic copy.

The first edition of EuskoMovie had the support of Filmoteca Vasca and the Cinematography division of Eusko Ikaskuntza.  All video works were recorded with a mobile phone, a digital camera or a video recorder and had some type of Basque theme.  The length of the short films could not any longer than two minutes including credits.
