From today until the 28th of September at 12:00 midnight, Basque Country time,  EuskoSare users will be able to choose the video winner of the third category; “Spectator Award” endowed with 200 euros.  Participation in the contest has been very good and we received videos from various corners of the world such as the United States, England, Mexico, Argentina and the Basque Country.  The bar has been set high by the participants and it won’t be easy to choose the winning videos.

User voting procedure for the Spectator Award has been provided in EuskoSare on the same page as where you will find the contest videos themselves.  The voting procedure is as simple as clicking on the hand symbol underneath the video that you want to win.  Each user can only vote for one video so you can get your friends in on the voting act to choose the video that they think deserves to win too.

The panel of judges, made up of three people with extensive knowledge in the world of  Basque cinematography, will be in charge of deciding who the winners are for the first two categories:  Best Short Film and Best Original Idea.  These lucky winners will respectively take home 600 and 400 euros.

EuskoMovie is the first on-line short film contest of EuskoSare.  All video work must be taped by using a cell phone, video camera or a digital photography camera.  They must be no longer than two minutes in length and have a Basque world-related theme.  The entry submission period started June 17th and ended the 14th of September.  Now, we get to find out who the winners are for this first edition of EuskoMovie 2008!
