Lower Navarra Urrizaga Family Reunion in Nevada

Members of the Urrizaga family, originally from lower Navarra, will be celebrating their first family reunion from July 17 - 19 in Reno, Nevada. The get-together will reunite descendents of Pierre Urrizaga and his brothers, who came to the United States in the early 1900s to begin new lives and to settle into the great west.

Florance (Urizaga) Camino's daughters sent out invitations to family members and so far, relatives from California, Nevada, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana have sent in their reservations and positive responses.  A great showing.  The reunion will be from July 17th  through the 19th and will enjoy outings to beautiful Lake Tahoe, Reno and Gardnerville.  El Dorado casino in Reno will be the hotel where reservations are to be made.

The Urrizaga brothers, originally from Arnegi, Lower Navarra, came to the United States and began establishing their North American roots at the beginning of the 1900s before World War I.  The reunion organizers have given special attention to details such as creating a family tree and custom-designing  T-shirts with a photo of the Zeztaua de Arnegi-Ondorrola baserri (farmhouse).  Both a copy of the family tree and the custom T-shirts will be given to each participant.  The weekend will include events such as gatherings in Basque restaurants in Gardnerville JT and Overland.  The Overland restaurant actually has family ties.

All American or European Urrizaga or Urizaga, as it is spelled in the states, family members, who are still interested in more information can write to the following email address:  kcamino@unr.edu.
